    • State of Florida vs. “A.K.” Case Dismissed

      Practice Area: Criminal Law Date: November 30, 2017 Charges: Armed Robbery with a Firearm - First Degree Felony Punishable by Life. Outcome: Our client was identified as a suspect based on an improper show-up procedure which resulted in the police arresting our innocent client. Following the depositions we took of both victims and our investigation the State agreed the wrong guy had been arrested & all charges were dismissed.

    • State of Florida vs. “D.R." Case Dismissed

      Practice Area: Criminal Law/DUI Date: October 11, 2017 Outcome: DUI resulting in a crash/property damage. Client failed the field sobriety tests; had broken beer bottles in her car; and smelled of alcohol. Through the use of an accident reconstruction expert & meetings with the assistant state’s attorney we successfully convinced the State to dismiss all the charges saving her from having to go through a trial & risking her freedom.

    • State of Florida vs. Charles Jackson & “F.S.F.” Not Guilty.

      Practice Area: Criminal Law Date: June 28 2017 Outcome: Not Guilty. Criminal Jury Trial. Charge: Murder in the Second Degree with a Firearm. If our client, "F.S.F.," had been convicted as charged he would have been sentenced to a mandatory life prison sentence.

    • State of Florida vs. “D.R." All charges dismissed

      Practice Area: Criminal Law Date: February 24 2017 Charges: Driving Under the Influence. Outcome: All charges dismissed Juvenile accused of: (1) Attempted Second Degree Murder with a Firearm; (2) Carrying a Concealed Firearm; and (3) Minor in Possession of a Firearm. State was considering “direct filing” (charging a juvenile as an adult) Mr. Britt. Instead they not only kept him in juvenile court, but all charges were dropped.

    • United States of America vs. Carrera, et al Not Guilty on all counts.

      Practice Area: Federal Crime Date: February 10 2017 Outcome: Not Guilty on all counts. Criminal Jury Trial. Federal RICO (Racketeer Influenced & Corrupt Organization) case. Charges: (1) Conspiracy to Participate in Racketeering Activity; and (2) Murder in Aid of Racketeering Activity. Valiente Law assisted with a variety of pre-trial discovery issues; jury selection; and legal assistance throughout trial.

    • State of Florida vs. Nathaniel Coker Dismissed at the close of State’s case

      Practice Area: Criminal Law Date: December 1, 2016 Outcome: Count 2: Dismissed at the close of State’s case; Count 1: Guilty to M2 Petit Theft (as a lesser included offense). Criminal Jury Trial. Charges: (1) Armed Robbery with a Firearm; and (2) Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. If convicted client would have been sentenced to a mandatory life sentence. Instead jury returned verdict of guilty only to Petit Theft under $100 (a 2nd degree misdemeanor punishable by max 60 days in jail) and Mr. Coker went home that night.

    • State of Florida vs. Anthony Miller All charges dismissed

      Practice Area: Criminal Law Date: July 28, 2016 Outcome: All charges dismissed as jury walking into courtroom. Criminal Jury Trial. Charges: (1) Attempted 2nd Degree Murder with a Firearm; (2) Attempted 2nd Degree Murder with a Firearm; (3) Attempted 2nd Degree Murder with a Firearm; (4) Possession of a Firearm while Engaged in a Criminal Offense; and (5) Tampering with a Witness/Victim in a Life Felony.

    • State vs. Alvarez Not Guilty

      Practice Area: DUI / Criminal Law Outcome: Not Guilty. Date: 5/23/2016 Criminal Jury Trial. Charges: Driving Under the Influence. Mr. Alvarez was falsely accused of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol due to a disability that affected his gait.

    • State vs. Hill Dismissed by Court

      Practice Area: Criminal Law Outcome: Dismissed by Court. Date: 4/27/2016 Criminal Jury Trial. Charges: Affray and Carrying a Concealed Weapon. The State dismissed the charge of Carrying a Concealed Weapon. During trial on a motion by defense counsel, the Court dismissed the remaining charge of Affray.

    • State vs. Morley Not Guilty

      Practice Area: Criminal Law Outcome: Not Guilty. Date: 1/20/2016 Criminal Jury Trial. Charge: Battery. The jury found Ms. Morley properly defended herself from attacks by the accusing witness.

    • State vs. Capote-Alvarez Not Guilty

      Practice Area: DUI/ Criminal Law Outcome: Not Guilty. Date: 10/19/2015 Criminal Jury Trial. Charge: Driving Under the Influence and several traffic infractions. The jury deliberated for seven minutes. After being found Not Guilty, State dismissed all other citations attached to the case.
